Meatball and Sons

Meatball and Sons is the newest place to open in Fitzroy and are part of the Meatballs family. The first Meatballs was in the city. It is on Brunswick st which is easy to reach via the 112 tram from the city.

Meatballs and Sons use organic produce, hence everything may seem a little bit more expensive.
Love the sign

This is what enticed me to try organic green tea

Love the milk jugs

Sauces for the meatballs

Soda jars
Love the quirky sign, don't you?

Wine

Disclaimer: I was invited by Meatballs and Sons to try the place. And so I did.

Meatballs is a healthy place that does not a lot of fried things except for their sliders. A lot of their dishes are to share but there are some for the solo diners such as the sliders. Their emphasis is on healthy, organic food and drinks.

I thought that Meatballs was just all meat offerings but I was wrong. They offered vegetarian meatballs and sliders.

I tried their homemade lemonade ($6). LOVED THAT MINTY AND LEMONY TASTE! Sorry about the shouting but that's how good they are.

I also had the doughballs ($6). YUM! Mon's Adventures will like these doughy little balls of heaven. They taste like pizza dough. Yum and with the herbed butter you can't go wrong.
Doughballs (left) and bread and olives (right)

Loved the olives and bread ($7) and the bread went well with the butter.
I got one of each: a calamari slider and a vegetarian one. They are $6 each.  The vegetarian one I didn't like it so much as it was bland, but the calamari one I liked

The broccoli balls ($16 with homemade tomato sauce and cheese) was a little bit soggy but the tomato sauce and cheese went well with this.

Ooh and if you are ordering dessert do get the Ricketts point ice cream ($9) as they are simply the best. If you are gluten free they are happy to put this in a bowl for you (they do cater for gluten free).

Verdict: Will happily visit again and try out the other table's succotash (mixed vegetables), rice and the doughballs again. The other table really liked their food and they mixed everything all together which worked well.
 The end.
