These are some of the Visa Requirements that students must satisfy
1) You need good English to come to Melbourne to study. True very true. You can read here for more information.
2) You need to maintain good grades. A pass is usually enough for each subejct. 50% is the pass grade in Melbourne.
3) You MUST finish your degree within the time specified. Ie you cannot be at risk of exclusion more than once.
4) You must have health cover of some sort. RMIT University is with Medibank private and you must pay your OHSC unless you are Norwegian or Swedish.
5) You must live somewhere and you must tell the University where you are living so that they can send important stuff in the mail to you. This can be done online as in RMIT's case. Or you might have to do it on paper.
Ie you cannot stay in friends places all the time. You must have a permanent place.
6) YOU CANNOT WORK MORE THAN 20 HOURS A WEEK IN A SEMESTER unless you are Postgraduate and working in the field that you are studying. If you are found to be in breach of this rule you will be sent home. Immigration are known to find and fine people in breach of this rule. They can be in either plain clothes or uniform and they usually act on information that the public give them.
However you can work full time during semester breaks.
7) YOU MUST HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR ONE OR TWO YEARS. Or at least access to some funds. You need at least $50000 for one year (that's including tuition money). Jobs are really hard to find here.
Immigration won't let you in if you don't have enough money for study.
8) You can transfer course provided that it is six months after you commenced the principal program. But you need a letter from RMIT and from the new university.
