RNIS was invited to this night by RMIT University
All the catering is done by Pearson's and Murphys.
This event took place in Storey Hall on a weeknight. Booking the ticket was easy and free via Eventbrite. About 650 people turned up on the night and it was easy to mingle with everyone over free food and alcohol and drinks.
Boeing is their major sponsor and they had a talk about working for Boeing. Boeing is the largest airline company in the world, but the funny thing is they do require Australian PR or citizenship. They do not employ international graduates. They also require high distinctions at uni.
Their work is amazing and its very challenging. There are many projects that graduates can do and its important to have a can do attitude. It is important to ask questions and don't be afraid to try new things.
The aviation and engineering industry is dying right now in Australia but there are some things that you could do. One of them being networking and doing extra cirricular activities in uni. Do go along to the engineering society's events. To join it is free.
Do study hard and work hard.
Also there were prize draws at the end of the night. One of the prizes was a trip to the Gold Coast from Jetstar
Many thanks to RMIT, Monash and Swinburne for organising this event and thanks RMIT for the invite
