Black Sheep on Lonsdale by Katherine

This is a sponsored post as I was invited by Black Sheep to attend. Many thanks to them for having me

This place has been opened for two months now. This place used to be Madame K's Malaysian house, but then they closed down. They are near Kokoro Ramen and across the road from the bank. I think that this place is cash only.

Black Sheep does breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I went there at 6pm. By then they had just opened and were a little bit disorganized. But the owner was lovely. She was an International student once before and knows the feeling. Their aim is to make all Malaysians and Singaporeans feel right at home with their signature murtabaks (one for $5 and two for $9. You can choose between lamb, chicken or beef).

The bathrooms are outside the restaurant and they are unisex.

I also had their Vegetarian laksa ($10). It was nice but it too little noodles in there. For that price I expected a lot more noodles. I loved the tofu though. I loved the broth. It was mildly spicy. This is great for people that don't like too much spice in their food.

I also had their Roti Canai. I didn't expect condensed milk and sweets. It actually did not need that. I just liked it just as it is plain and flaky.

For the drink I drank Iced Lime and Lemon tea ($4). I remembered Laksa Bar's tea just as that. It wasn't sickly sweet which is great and I loved the lime down the bottom.

I enjoyed a Murtabak. It is one of Malaysia's street, hawker style snacks, which people enjoy a lot in Malaysia. I had the chicken one which was done nicely. I loved the spring onions in this.

I would love to come back and I encourage all students to come and try the Malaysian street style snacks like never before. Murtabak is a rare snack in Melbourne and this is the only place that I have found so far that has it.

I hope that Meld and other bloggers discover this true gem.
