Melbourne voted the second best city in the world

According the QS ranking system Melbourne is voted the second best city in the world to study in. Here Melbourne is ranked number 5 in the world's most liveable cities. We explain why Melbourne continues to thrive on being the best city

Melbourne overtook Sydney in the rankings. Sydney is now number 4 in the world and Boston is number 5. The rankings were measured by affordability, lifestyle, employment prospects and student community.

More and more employers want to hire International students and the International student community is more vibrant than ever, thanks to the emergence of food blogs which talk about the lifestyle in Melbourne.

Melbourne is the best city for coffees, beaches and universities. It is said that it is the best city for housing, but that is not always true given that the cost of renting is sky high. Education is also ten times higher than Paris (Parisian education is about $2760 per year).

But it is known for four seasons in a day and the lovely old buildings and trams.

Over the past year Melbourne has jumped from no 5 to no 2 due to the hard work done by the Victorian government. Lets hope that the Labour government which was recently elected keep up the good work of enhancing the International student experience.

Melbourne and Victoria attracts over 140,000 international students each year. Lets hope that the numbers stays the same over the next few years and that Melbourne stays the best city in the world
