A tour of the Carlton Football club and the game

RNIS was invited to the tour by the City of Melbourne

The Carlton Football Club this year decided to include more International students into their program so they have decided to a tour. This was to get more students to know about the game. The tour was held one afternoon at VISY park which was a five minute tram ride from the city.

Footy has been around for about 150 years now and this year is all about diversity. Back in June I was invited to a football game: Essendon vs North Melbourne. There are about 18 teams in Australia with ten of them in Melbourne. Football originated in Melbourne and is still going strong.

Here we got the chance to tour the football club as well as kick some goals and fun we had.  I wasn't very good at the ball but I still had some fun and made many new friends along the way.

The game itself was fun and I met two new International students who didn't know about the game. That day it was Carlton and Gold Coast and Carlton won by 40 points. All the footy fans were wearing their jerseys scarves etc and it was fun to see a sea of blue. I had fun cheering the Carlton Football club as they had taught me many things and I am thankful.

Many thanks to the City of Melbourne for the invite
