Dainty Sichuan

Dainty Sichuan is in South Yarra, but for the city there will be a new store in the city soon.

The place is renowned for its Sichuanese food which is hot and spicy. I saw that they had a lunchtime special and I really wanted to try this.  I have been hankering for Sichuanese food ever since last year. But last year they were renovating the store.
Opening hours

The service isn't so great. They forgot one guys drink and the waiter didn't know what the Australian couple was asking them (They were asking about Paywave, a system that they currently don't have). They do have credit and EFTPOS but it is $30 minimum spend and a 1% surcharge. There is a 7-11 across the road and they do have a Bankwest atm there.

The place is across the road from South Yarra station so it is easy to get to by train. Parking may be a problem especially on Friday and Saturday night.

The lunch specials mainly have meat in there but you can ask for it without.
Iced Milk tea

I had an iced milk tea ($4.8) and my favourite mapo tofu ($9.8). The iced tea and the mapo tofu worked really well together as the milk downed a bit of the spiciness. The tufo was perfect and same as the rice. The rice was Australian rice.

The tea had that perfect creaminess to it and it tasted like teh tarik.

Verdict: I'd love to come to try their ants dish and the fish eggplant dish. I noticed that the same couple that asked about the Paywave didn't finish their food which suggests that they did not like it. Moreover what I also found weird about this couple was that they asked for soy sauce in this spicy restaurant. They must not have loved the spicy sauce or appreciated it.
