And this is bigger and better than the last.
The event was at Crown at the riverside and it was free for everyone. Note: all the stalls are cash only, but there are atms inside Crown. I had enough cash for today's festivities without having to withdraw monies.
This time I got to do many wonderful things such as go to a cooking demonstration and score a few freebies.
The cooking demonstration was great. There is one every hour and they do all sorts of different asian dishes from satay to Nasi Goreng. The cooking demonstration was by Asian inspirations.
There were a great many Asian delights for people to snack on or have lunch and dinner. Pity that there weren't a lot of vegetarian offerings, including vegetarian dumplings. I bought the longevity noodles ($10) and the chive pancakes ($5) from vendors. They were alright, but they had so much MSG that I was thirsty afterwards. So I bought a ice plum green tea from another vendor ($6). So expensive.
There were free performances including the lion dancing and Vietnamese dancing. There were also tea demonstrations as well.
Last night I saw the fireworks at 12am at a friend's place in the city and they were spectacular.
Many thanks to Crown and the City of Melbourne for this great event. Many thanks to Asian Inspirations for the classes.
Crown for next year, can you please have some more vegetarian offerings?
