The Malaysian festival- what you missed

It was on the 3rd of November between 12pm-9pm at Queensbridge square. It was free entry for all. There was many Malaysians and other people there that day trying out all the delights of Malaysia and enjoying the performances. We all had fun that day.

The event is organized by JOM Magazine and I was invited to go. Hence this is a sponsored post.

JOM magazine started in Melbourne last year and they have been going strong. Their aim to bring all Malaysians together and make everyone happy. Without the support they cannot run

Here there were lots of games to be played, plus performances, food and competitions such as the Durian eating.

The Durian eating and the Swinburne Indian club dances were the highlight of the show for everyone as everyone seemed to gather at those times and take many photos.

In terms of the food the main highlight seemed to the Satay stalls. I already had lunch that day so I was more keen on their desserts. The $6.50 plate sounded great and it was something I wanted to try. So I had these Malaysian desserts. The jelly cake wasn't very sweet but the other peanutty thing was. There was also $8 ice cream (from N2 Gelato) but in this weather I wasn't keen for that.

I loved watching the Swinburne Indian club perform the Bollywood dance. I hope that next year RMIT Indian club takes their turn. Like many others I also enjoyed the Durian festival.

Many thanks to JOM magazine and if you want to donate do get in touch here. We hope to see you again next year.
