University library

RMIT has libraries on all of their sites
Here you can borrow books as well as use their computers. It is best to book a computer to use or otherwise you will have to wait in the queue for your turn.
All of their resources are free for current students to use. You can place a hold on book if you need. The library also has a few copies of the textbooks that you need so you can borrow them from the library for a short time. If the fine is under $25 you don't have to pay but if it over then yeah you do have to pay or otherwise you cannot borrow.

They do have group study rooms for people to use. You do need to book it and spaces do fill up easily towards the end of the semester.

They also have free study classes at the start of each semester. You can book them here. If you turn up late to your booking your booking might be cancelled.

During the semester the library is opened until really late. it is also opened on the weekends.

You can also place a hold on a book online.

RMIT subscribes to many databases all of which are free for RMIT students to use. If you are in the library you can have a look at their database collection to do some research. But if you are at home you'll need to log into their database.
Here is the screen shot

Students do visit the library. RMIT has one in Bundoora, Carlton, City and Brunswick. You do not necessarily have to visit the one in the city. You can visit other library sites.
