One Noodle Friendship

This is hidden in a little shopping arcade in Preston.

Here they specialise in handmade noodles and dumplings. In fact you can buy some to take home.

I went there on the first day of the Anti Racism workshop at Darebin Intercultural centre. It is about a one minute walk from there. The place is right between the City and Bundoora campuses with the train station about a minutes walk away.

The lady that served me did not smile one bit. In fact her English was really bad. Perhaps she is just new? But the owner was very friendly.

At 1pm when I came the place was dead quiet. The only people in it were mainly Australians.

I ordered a spring onion pancake (my favourite for $3.80) and a handmade vegetarian fried noodles ($10.50). The tea was free though.

When the noodles came to the table they looked bland and they were a bit bland. The noodles stuck together. But the vegetables were perfect though.

I found a hair in my noodles. Not that I minded though.

The spring onion pancake was great though. It was doughy and cooked perfectly.

I didn't really like the free tea though, it was ashy. It tasted a little bit like opium.

Maybe they should just stick to dumplings as they looked great. I might just be back only for the dumplings.
