I went there with the guys from AFIS for lunch and couldn't believe how cheap it was.
They are an Indian restaurant in the heart of the city and they have been around for a long time. They serve vegetarian and non vegetarian food.
We didn't wait long for our food. We ordered and paid and then our number was called.
There was four of us.
Between the four of us, we had two Dosa meals ($10.90 each), naan and two rice meals (again for the same price). Dosa are those thinly fried pancaky thing which has filling inside. It also came with pakora, some white bread thing (which I don't know the name of) and some curries.
The naan was quite doughy and nice. I had a good time dipping it in the sauces.
The water and cutleries are self serve. The place is clean and homely. There is a TV where you can watch Indian programs.
The place is cash only but there is an ATM in Flinders st station.
We all loved our meals, me included. They were filling and reminded us of India.
This place is really good for Indian students and anyone on a student budget. Many thanks RUSU for recommending such a good eat. I'd be more than happy to recommend students to come here if they are looking for some homely, cheap Indian food.
