Monga Sweet Lounge

I went to Monga Sweet Lounge for a quick snack. It has been open for a while but I didn't know it existed. It is hidden away- up two small flights of stairs in Lonsdale st. They also have other branches in the suburbia. They have been advertised a few times in the free melon magazine
Here it was really quiet. The only other two tables were Asian. And this is a great sign because it means that the food will be great. These people were mainly students.
The place attracts all the Asians and the poor uni students from the nearby RMIT uni and Melbourne Uni.  Here everything is cheap and they have $10.50 set meals.
But I wasn't here for the meals but just a snack. So I had the $4 tea and bun combo and a $3 coconut pudding. The pudding isn't like the one you normally have in Asian restaurants. This is the streat style one on a stick.

Loved the mini pineapple bun although it was a little too buttery. Perhaps they should have used half the butter????
The tea was a lovely lemon tea. Good for winter. But they should have more tea options such as Green tea.

I' d love to revisit for their meals and other snacks and would encourage others to do so. The service was just ok.
