The National Wool Museum and Denny's Kitchen

The National Wool Museum is at Geelong and its a must see for all craft and wool enthusiasts. It is an hour away by train from Melbourne's CBD and it is good for those looking to take a day or two away from your studies. A student ticket is about $6 and an adult one is about $8.25. You will get a sticker which you can put anywhere afterwards

Look at these

Its pretty

It is staffed by volunteers who are always willing to guide you through the exhibitions.

There was a Scarf festival going on over there and it is on every year. This year they had a theme of the ocean and being sustainable. People can vote for the best one. People can also buy them as well from the Museum shop and all proceeds goes back to the artist. Prices range from $10 to $400 per scarf.

On Level One you can learn about wool and learn about Australia's history with wool and houses. You can also have fun touching the clean wool and sorting out the wool. You can also try your hand at the old scales and see how much you weigh compared to a big 172 kg bale of wool.

Feel like a break? Then why not head to Denny's where you'll be served by friendly staff. Here we ordered a pot of tea for $3.50 and a mini slice for $2. Normally in the city it costs around $4- $4.50, sometimes even $5 per pot so I was pleasantly surprised. The mini slice was homemade and on Wednesday nights they do have a $19 pizza and peroni.

The way that it is set up and open reminds me of Vapiano in the city with all the fruits and open spaces.

Students you should take a break and visit this lovely little place at 43 Moorabool st in Geelong.
