Tips for buying online

Nowadays it is much cheaper to buy things online. You don't have to worry about the queues and the expenses as its all taken care of. We give you some tips as to buying things safely online.

1) Install anti viral software
Anti viral software is not expensive to buy and its usually around $90 per year to maintain your subscription.  Everytime you go online it will protect your computer from viruses and spyware.

2) Use Firefox or Safari not Chrome
Firefox is the safest web browser when buying things. They always have the latest security updates and they load really fast

3) Read the reviews before buying it
 If there is no delivery or the website does not work then don't go there. Also if the item you were thinking of buying is no good then don't go there.

4) Use 128 bit security site
You don't want people to see your private things do you? Such as your credit card details.

5) If you can use Paypal
Paypal is a more secure way of paying for things as the merchants need not know of your credit card details. Most sites will have a pay by Paypal option.

But you do need to put some money into your Paypal account and Paypal is easy to set up. It is a free site.

Other tips.
If you buy online regularly, get yourself a PO Box from Australia Post. They are $100-$400 depending on the size of your box but they will last a year. YOu'll also have to pay $25 establishment fee. No one will know where you live if you have a PO box.

Don't buy clothes online as you'll need to try these on before you buy. Often when you buy clothes online you'll find that it is a lot smaller, bigger or it does not suit you and then you have to send it back.

Read the refund policy before buying anything online as some stores may not allow refunds.
