Transport from Melbourne Airport

Students do you need a ride from the airport to the city? Well here are some great options that you might not know about.

Your uni's free shuttle bus
This is usually free for students of that uni but students need to book ahead with that uni. Students need to book when they accept their uni's offer. Problem is if students are late the bus will just leave and students may have to wait for the next one

No shows are charged between $50-$70. But if the uni made an error and the students have booked they can take taxi and then get it refunded by the uni.

Taxi
Taxis are generally $30-$50 one way and they accept cash/EFTPOS and credit cards. They are a last resort for students. The taxis depart from the airport at the arrivals hall.

Suburban bus
There isn't a lot of them but there is the 901 bus from the airport. It is just the cost of a two zone 1 trip plus the $6 card fee on your myki. But it doesn't go to the city. Instead it goes to Essendon station and then you have to catch a train to the city, Also route 478 bus goes to Essendon station.

NB: The bus stop is outside terminal one.

Skybus
It is about $20 one way and the bus will take you straight to the city. It is 15 mins to the city. They run every 15-20 minutes from the airport

Students I hope you find this guide useful. Do try and use your uni free service but if you can't there are other ways.
