Meet your campus departments: International

Visiting Moomba parade is one of the things that they do. Image by RMIT Newintstudents

International is the one that many International students can relate to because they organise a lot of campaigns just for International students. Not only that they also organise many activities which are a chance to meet up with other International students mainly for free.

International students have many difficulties in studying in Melbourne such as finding their feet in a new country and the rising costs of living there. This is where the International department comes into play. Many International students may not actually know that it is there, but it is.

They are not a part of the actual uni itself, but they are a part of student union. The Student Union is an independent body run by students for students. SO any problems that International students may have such as working and housing they will be able to assist these students. All the information is confidential and you can send them an email. They also work alongside your student rights officers and alongside Education and Welfare.

Leave all that aside they also do the fun and games such Amazing race and free food days. What MONSU and maybe some other unis (if they have the funding from the uni) is a great food tour where students are shown around Melbourne and are treated to some of the best food. They also arrange movie nights.

So what are you waiting for? Do sign up in Oweek and come along to some of their meetings
