Om Vegetarian has been around for many years now. Based in the city it is run by volunteers and it is a not for profit Indian eatery.
This is an all you can eat for $6.50 which includes two curries, rice and naan. The service was a little bit on the slow side but the food made up for it as it was homely.
The food reminds you of India but the only thing is that the curries might not be spicy for some. You can go back for refills (that's only if you are not sharing). If you are sharing you are not allowed.
Desserts and drinks are $1-$2 extra. So with that I bought a gulab jamin (sweet ball). It was really sweet but not sickly sweet. You help yourself to the drinks.
Students do visit this cheap eat everyday as you can get your fill. Even the poorest ones can visit. Sitting time is 45 mins max and it does get busy on a weekday lunchtime.
Quote on the wall which I thought was really interesting |
