Public transport concessions in Melbourne by Katherine

International students are not eligible for concession tickets on Melbourne's public transport system.  Hence they must pay full fare for everything.

There is a petition though that has been going on for some time. The international students in Melbourne contribute about $5 bil last year and probably more this year. it is time that this discrimination stopped Ted (Our State minister)

International students cannot afford the $112-$120 a month for MYKI let alone the $6 card fees. Whilst local students only have to pya $3 for the card and $52-$60 per month. It is not fair. Most of them come from poor families and struggle to survive in Australia.

Without concessions some of us have to walk home in the dark or in the rain when we could be tram hopping like the locals.
International students deserve better. Come on Ted
