Temporary Accomodation

Students you will need to have somewhere that you can stay in whilst you are in Melbourne and are trying to look for a place. Here are some great hostels which won't break the bank.

Most hostels cost between $32-$80 per night. Most of them have dorms and you will be sharing the kitchen and the common areas with other people

1) YHA- they do have membership and with their membership there is 10% off accomodation. They also do have specials but you have to book ahead http://www3.yha.com.au/
2) Le student 8- they have weekly rates of $250 per week and you can also opt to live there. There's free transport to and from RMIT so you don't have to worry about paying for travel. http://www.lestudent8.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=le-student-8&gclid=COuP6MKfy7QCFYsdpQodNHgA2g
3) Nomads in the city. It is $38- $41 per night in Feburary for a single person. It is right near RMIT so no need to take the train or tram. You can just walk there http://nomadsworld.com/hostels/australia/nomads-melbourne
4) There's heaps of backpackers places in St Kilda but then you'd have to worry about paying for travel as well as the violence
5) Greenhouse Backpackers is $35 per night and there are some meals included as well. They are in Flinders Lane near Flinders st station http://www.greenhousebackpacker.com.au/rooms-and-rates/dorms/

Or if you are lucky....
Then maybe you can stay with family and friends who are already in Melbourne. You might not have to pay a cent.

Good luck in finding a place and you will need to book ahead as places fill up. Best to book online now.
