Media for students to read whilst in melbourne

There are a few magazines and media that students can read in Melbourne.
1) The Age- they have a $30 tertiary yearly deal where you get your weekend papers for free and you can pick up the weekday ones on campus. You cannot take the paper without the card, that is known as stealing and others will miss out. You can read it online at: http://www.theage.com.au/
2) Catalyst- is a student magazine written by students for students which gets distributed around the campus once a month. And its free. They have some lovely articles in there for students to read.
3) The Australian- they have a $35 deal, but no one really buys it.
4) MCV- is a chinese newspaper and it will be displayed at the chinese restaurants and cafes around the city. It is free for everyone

5) Melbourne weekly- this is free and it will be displayed in various places in the city. This usually talks about what is on in the city and maybe have some free coupons
6) MX- it is an extremely popular paper which is displayed in the city- in and around the stations. It is free. This si pretty much like a newspaper, except it is easier to read on the train.You just look out for the blue and yellow boxes saying MX.
7) Your local paper is a free paper which gets delivered free to your house. It will have some offers for restaurants, groceries and shopping so use them to your advantage
8) Utimes- is extremely popular on campus. It only gets distributed 4 times a year and usually has really great articles dealing with student issues. They also have coupons from time to time.
9) Other Magazines- these range from $2-$20 per month, depending on what you buy. Some extremely popular ones are Super Food Ideas ($2.95), Masterchef Magazine ($4-$7), TV weekly ($4.95), Good Taste ($3.95) and Woolworths fresh (free). Some of the magazines sometimes are sold in a bundle of two ($7-$12)
10) Some of the more expensive ones are The womens weekly, Marie Claire etc for the fashion concious. And some of them comes with free stuff such as a showbag.
