Opening ceremony

RNIS was invited by MASCA Victoria to participate in this exciting event

MASCA is the Malaysian students association of Australia and the Victorian part organized the ASEAN games

This exciting event was held in Drill Hall on a Friday night. It was here that we were warmly welcomed to the event by MASCA and it was here we met up with MASCA.

The ASEAN Games is just about to start and it is a sporting competition. There will be badminton, table tennis, futsal, basketball, netball you name it. And although it is based at MSAC there are a few games being played at Melbourne Uni and Albert Park reserve

The aim of the games is to have fun and be together. And to celebrate our differences and similarities

This event has started in 2011 and is going strong. It started off with just Victorian Malaysian teams but now it has teams from 10 different ASEAN countries all participating in this exciting event.  MASCA would like to thank its sponsors which is IDP Education, PappaRIch, Pancake Parlour, Roll'd, Miss Chu.

The food was catered for by Miss Chu hence the small rice paper rolls. The vegetarian ones had a lot of tang to it from the carrots and the satay ones were equally just as good.

The teams were drawn at random and people who were not there were told by email as to who they will be playing against.

Many thanks MASCA Victoria for inviting me to be a part of the games this year.
