Blogging part 3: Photos and Content

Now we have the third part of our series which is the most tricky part. Writing your first post can be the most tricky and daunting part but after a while you'll get the hang of writing posts and researching ideas.

Research
This is the most important part as this is your inspiration. Have a look at Google.com or on Urbanspoon if you are an avid foodie. Or otherwise you can blog about your experiences in Melbourne.
One great foodie picture

Voice
Your voice should be genuine and honest. You don't have to agree with what is out there. And that's important for both uni work/learning and writing. In uni lecturers expect you to form an opinion on things. Lecturers expect you to be analytical.

Content
Grammar and spelling are important. Coherence too is important. Most blog posts are argumentative and about feelings.
All blog posts have a short introduction, body and a conclusion. They should be short and to the point

Most bloggers are food bloggers, but you can blog about anything you want. Really.

Timing
The timing is important. In that you'll lost followers if you don't write in a long period of time. You won't remember a thing about your dining/crafting experience.

Photos
Every post needs a photo. They should be photo edited. Most students use their smartphone as a camera as it has no flash and it is easy to carry around. Most blogger can take pictures of food and things without being caught this way.

But there are some professional photographers which are quite expensive. A camera in Melbourne will set you back about $200-$800.

A post with just photos and no words is boring. People want to know what you think and a photo doesn't say much. A photo only just tells you what that thing is. Some words are always better

Next up is the fourth part which is about marketing.

Do you have any hints which you would like to share?
