Exams

So it is that time of the semester again?
Well here are some exam tips to ace those exams.
1) Keep Hydrated- drink about 7-8 glasses a day. Water is free and there are water fountains at RMIT for you to use.

2) Eat well, sleep well
Aim to have two serves of fruit per day and five serves of vegetables. Also aim to have about 4 or 5 serves of carbs a day. And don't forget the proteins.
Aim to have breakfast everyday as that will help you get through the day.
Try and have eight hours of sleep per night if you can

3) Play
Playing relaxes you. So try and aim to have some play time during your days. Play also takes your mind off things.

4) Exercise- allocate about an hour for exercise. Exercise relaxes you.
Walking is free. If you live near a park even better. Even if you walk to uni you'd still be exercising.

5) Timing is everything (and no we don't mean cramming the night before and having a coffee hangover at 3am)!
Start to plan your revision time early on in the semester, factoring any time for classes, part time jobs etc. The study and learning centre has free calendars.
And yes cramming the night before is bad for you.

6) Go to all your classes right from the start of semester
If you don't you'll miss all those important and useful information for the exam. That's part of the reason why people fail courses.

7) Don't panic, relax
If you panic in the exam you might miss read a few questions or answer them wrongly. But if you be calm then you can answer them correctly.

8) Be organised on exam day- Know where they are held and how to get there. Work it out a few days beforehand and have a few practice runs if need be. The exam timetables are published a month beforehand so really there is no excuse for being late to the exam. Oh yeah and know what time the exam starts. RMIT lets you see your exam timetable through MYRMIT.
Get your id, MYKI and everything ready the night before. Make sure that you have enough pens and pencils, water, tissues for the exam.

9) Eat a big meal before the exam. South Melbourne has many cheap eat places for students so there is no reason not to have something before the exam. If you don't have anything before the exam you  might not be able to concentrate much on the exam itself.

10) Practice practice practice- do the past exam papers. The library usually has plenty for students to borrow. Or you can download them from the Online learning hub. These are good way to know what you will be asked during the exam and to also practice using time wisely during the exam.  Do the past papers within the time allowed and the same exam conditions. The reason that most people don't finish the exam is that they didn't use the time wisely.

Good luck for your exam
