Five tips on surviving the early mornings

As part of Bupa's best blog for 2015

Students do you have early morning classes? If so then you might need to wake up really early and here is how to adjust.

1) Go to bed early (if you can)
If you can too try and wake up the same time each day. Your body needs about 7-8 hours of sleep each day to fully function. What I also find is easier to wake up in the morning is to set the alarm for ten minutes earlier then you have to actually be up. You can slowly get up that way.

2) Eat breakfast
The best breakfast for me would have to be toast as I, like any other Asian can't stomach too much heavy food this early. I love green tea.

3) Be organised
Work out as to when your bus/tram/train leaves and how long it takes for you to get to uni. Also try and pack your bag the night before. Also work out your meals for the week on the weekend if you can and have some meals in the freezer ready for uni.

Do your grocery shopping on the weekend. Or if you can't then try signing up for home delivery services such as Hello fresh.

4) Try and do an early morning walk around the river/park/beach as that always helps.. Or to the tram stop.
Every time when you exercise your metabolism rate goes up making you be more awake during class. You'll have more energy to perform well during class.

5) Be motivated and know what you have to do. Write a list so that you have something to look forward to each day
