Cherry and Twigs

As part of RNIS's Healthy Living Month
As part of Bupa's best blog competition for 2015

Cherry and Twigs is a little coffee store which is in the dead end of the city. They are another specialty coffee store. In Melbourne there are many specialty coffee stores popping up all over our great city. I had discovered the place in the Entertainment book and had wanted to try.

The cafe is in a laneway just off Flinders lane and near Southern cross station. It is also near the Holiday Inn and the Exhibition centre which means that it is popular with the tourists.

The service was a tad bit slow. It was after 11:30am when I came and there were not many people. Most people wanted just coffee and even that took a while.

They roast their own coffee beans and take coffee seriously. I had the Ethopian pour over which was bitter and nutty. It was also a little bit weak.

The scrambled eggs were lovely and they took a while to come. The other table's meals took a while too but they looked fantastic.

My eggs were just melt in the mouth goodness and I loved the salad on the side. Not too often in the cafes you would get this and chives on top, so good on them.

But the bread was a little hard to cut, but that was only just a minor issue and I didn't mind the tiny slices of it.

The portions was just right for the lady that wants to lose some weight.

I hope that Cherry and Twigs stay around for a while as they do some seriously good coffee without the need to promote themselves.
