Right now the Japan Art and Culture organization are looking for people to volunteer with them for the festival.
The festival is sponsored by the City of Melbourne.
The festival is on the 15th of Dec at the North Melbourne town hall.
Last year the festival was a success thanks to its volunteers. Last year it was at the North Melbourne Town Hall.
The aim of the festival is to have a better connection between Australia and Japan.
This is a chance for some of you to make friends as well as practice your English.
The festival is divided into four sections.Volunteers can choose to do one out of four sections at the festival.
1) Stage- volunteers may be asked to lift heavy stuff such as speakers. There will be many performances on the day.
2) Workshops- there are 23 in all and each have their own booths. Two volunteers are required for each booth to handle money and other things.
3) Food- volunteers are not required to cook or handle food. These are done by external restaurants in which the organization buys the bentos and the snacks from. They are however required to handle money and roam around with the snack trays and sell snacks. But if you don't want to sell snacks but you still want to do food you can either handle money or microwave bentos.
4) Reception- this is the easiest job of all. This involves just selling tickets and assisting with general enquiries. Entry tickets are $4 each.
It will be a good day out. There is heaps of fun to be had.
