There is a new kid on the block! And they are next door to the Meat and Wine and Co.
Looks like the Meat and Wine and Co might have a bit of competition on their hands. A lot of students study and live in Southbank, hence this is what Southbank needed.
They have been open for four weeks now and already they are a favourite with some of the corporates.
I was invited to try out some of their lunch menu hence this is a sponsored post. But all thoughts are my own. I was invited by Kristian, the store manager. The waitress that served me was lovely and she was very attentive.
I loved the American decor.
There is outdoor and indoor seating. It was a rainy day hence I sat inside.
The bathrooms are upstairs and to the right. You have to climb some narrow wooden steps so if you are not comfortable wearing heels best not to wear them.
Like all the others they are American- hence fatty food. But they also specialise in cocktails. When they first opened I received a buy one get one free cocktail voucher. But I don't drink alcohol, hence a mocktail (Pina Colada- I think it was $6.50).
They have two courses for $34.95 or three for $39.95. They also have their lunch specials of $9.95, $13.95 and $16.95 where you can get a free drink
I loved this dirnk and I loved the fact that they have about 50 different varieties of drinks. It is something that this part of Southbank needs. The Pina Colada was really nice and refreshing. It would make a really lovely summer drink by the beach. It was not too sweet
They specialise in burgers and Jack Daniels ribs with their own twist on things. I had the veggie burger with fries, guacamole and chilli sauce. I am a fan of the Tabasco. I loved the chips and the salad. The chips were nicely flavoured. I struggled to finish this dish. I loved the veggie burger, except it was a tiny bit bland. If it had just a little bit of sauce in the burger it would have been better.
I also had onion rings whilst I liked it, I didn't love it. It didn't have a lot of batter to this, hence it was really oily. It was really hard to eat as all the crunchy fell apart.
I would love to come back and try their desserts especially the oozing brownie and the mousse. This place is perfect for Friday night drinks or a lovely mid week meal without blowing the budget. It is also a lovely place to have some fun without breaking the bank. It is what Southbank needs rather than those drab, somewhat miserable (not all of them are miserable) and overpriced places.
