Hokkaido Cheese tart

Hokkaido Cheese tart has just opened in Melbourne Central and recently we went to check out the craze. The first few weeks the place was really hectic as people wanted to find out about these little beauties. But now that there are shops in Chadstone and QV as well as Melbourne Central, there was really no need to go all the way to Melbourne Central.

Here the tart was nice and warm from being freshly baked on site. That's the good thing about coming early in the mornings. When you get them in the afternoon it can be lukewarm and cold from being on the bench for a while. One tart is $3.90 which is expensive for such a sweet tart.

In short try it once and if you like it go back again.

Oskar Pizza

Oskar Pizza is in North Melbourne right outside a tram line. Here they are known for the best Italian pizzas and they have been following me for some time on Instagram.

It was when Metro had decided on the replacement bus service that I had decided to give it a shot. I didn't want the inconvience of having to take a train, then a bus and then another bus. Besides North Melbourne station is about 5-10 minute walk away from here

Here the place is small and intimate and so is their menu. This is good in a way as they can just focus well on a few things and do really well with them. We didn't mind the wait as the pizza turned out really good. Really good pizza takes a while to make. Some people complained but most enjoyed their food including us. Our pizza took twenty minutes to make.

Our pizza was a small roast pumpkin pizza ($17.50) with balsamic vinegar in it as well as cheese and onion. The balsamic vinegar was very subtle which we liked and there was lots of garlic in there. The base was a little bit doughy but we did not mind one bit. At least the vegetables were fresh and we saw it go into the oven.

Then for dessert we had two scoops of Fritz's gelato for $10. Fritz have just won the best award for their ice cream hence this was well worth our money. Here it came in a small but cool looking glass which made the dessert look very tantalising. We would have ordered the Nutella pizza but we were happy with ice cream. We chose the pistachio and the macadamia flavours and they worked well together like a marriage made in heaven.

Rating: 15/20- good wish more people knew about this place.

Panarche

Panache Creperie is an old place in Geelong and it has just been renovated. I was at the beach that day enjoying the views and all.

It is really welcoming and they welcome dogs. I got to meet two lovely King Charles Spaniels who loved me and meeting other dogs. They also loved barking. It was a nice day down at Geelong- not like Melbourne where it was a really warm 34C.
Lovely banana bread

I love the ocean. Moreover I love the fresh food that is offered at Geelong as well as good ice cream. You won't be able to find that anywhere in the city or Docklands.

I enjoy a good pancake and this did not disappoint. It was lemon and sugar ($10.90). The lady asked if I wanted ice cream and I said no as I had some down at the beach. The ice cream that I had at the beach was awesome. Now you don't normally find the ice cream trucks in Melbourne as you do in Geelong so this was a rare treat for me.

Without the ice cream the crepe did just fine for me as I loved the lemon and the sugar on top. This melted in the mouth.

I also enjoyed my green tea and there is self service of the water.

If I was Panache I would invite some of the bloggers down on a nice sunny weekend to enjoy a sweet crepe and the beach. And now that you have relaunched and have only four reviews and no posts except this one- do offer a Groupon or two.
