There is a new place in Victoria st Richmond called Rustic Thai. It is in a student area right near the train station and there were many rave reviews about it.
Here I went to check this out as I was looking for somewhere cheap to eat. It was a drab and dreary day today. It was 3pm and they had their lunch special for $10.50. One day I'll have to take aadancefit.
I had their pad thai and it comes with a tray of amazing chilli sauces. I remembered having these at Middle fish when Pla taught us about Thai food. That sauce was darn spicy so I had to order some roti bread to get rid of that spice. The roti bread was buttery and very thin. They only had a small serve of it for $4.50.
The pad thai too was small but moreish. In fact I didn't finish all but loved the egg in there. It was light and very soft. Here the soy was a tad bit sweet but not so overpowering. It had a lot of wok hei in there and the tofu was yum.
Overall its a good place for lunch which does not break the bank. Sweet and Sour sour and Curious Charlie should try it soon as it is up their alleyway.
