Dekoboko is a new contemporary Japanese place on Bridge Road. It is a casual place for everyone and their focus is on health food. It is serviced by trams and there is limited parking.
They have a huge wine list and they have an array of Japanese sake and Choya neither of which I tried since I had too much alcohol at the Good Food and Wine show.
The service there was very friendly. The place is run by real Japanese.
The place is very intimate and they do have an open kitchen and bar so you see them making the drinks and food.
For drinks I had their watermelon superfood juice which had a ginger kick to it. It was $7 and it is good for winter and for runners because it will hydrate you after a run or workout at the gym.
For the tapas I had a small piece of salmon and Philadelphia roll ($2). This was yum except the salmon was a little bit too thick. They could have cut this much better. For that reason I prefer Sushi Hub's version which had a huge piece of Philadelphia cheese.
I really enjoyed the vegetarian curry with the red rice. The red rice was the proteins and it was yum. They used real Japanese curry powder to make the curry taste good. Other people in the restaurant enjoyed the gyoza
Rating: 17/20- good meal at great prices. If only they offered fish dishes.
I enjoyed everything on offer. I would have liked to have tried the desserts but was too full. The cakes sure do look good.
