RNIS was invited by the owner on zomato.
We wanted to come on a busy night and see how they would cope.
And they didn't cope so well. But they had been open for a few months now. Gastrology were the first ones to review the place. The place is on Bridge road where all the eateries are.
The owners wanted to open Baotime just for fun and to try something new. And they took a good risk with their baos. Their baos are the most popular with everyone wanting the pork belly and the lobster bao. I really enjoyed the lobster bao and they put pineapple in there just to make things that little bit sweeter.
First up we had the Korean spicy drumsticks. These are really spicy and messy but good for those that love the spice. The chicken was just cooked to perfection.
Then the cheese and corn which is Korea's version of cheese and mac. This was soooo addictive.
The least favourite was the ramen. It wasn't too spicy and it was lukewarm.
The chips were bland and were a little bit like the ones from McDonalds.
The Gangnam style pancake was good and it had loads of sauce and flavouring. As Manu would say "Magnifique!".
The boy enjoyed his chicken and beef bao though and his did not take long to come. But my kaya took a while but it was one of my favourites of the night.
Rating: 14/20- would come again, but not on a Friday night and not for the chips or the ramen. Just the bao, pancake and chicken. And for the friendly service.
Oh and they should get Dimmi and Yelp. With Dimmi diners can book ahead of time.
