RNIS was invited to the launch but had to pay their own way for food.
The launch took place at the Prahran Markets old Mojito and it was there that people were wowed by the music and the food.
Here there was a porridge bar that gave away free samples of stuff. I also got a $5 discount voucher. Meh what is the point of that when you have to spend $10 or more in store? And when people don't want to eat or drink a lot at 2pm in the afternoon?
So may as well buy it myself
So I did. Given that it was such a hot day I got an iced cendol from the Taste of Malaysia shop ($6.90 but $7.90 with ice cream) and an iced tea ($2). I struggled to finish the cendol as it was huge. But it was a nice way to cool down on a hot summers day.
I have never really tasted cendol before so I can't comment except its huge and sickly sweet. Its best to share this dessert with someone.
The iced tea was a little bit bland but it was still great for a hot summers day
Do come to this little pop up hideaway and do enjoy the goodies on offer. In fact I will be back when I can to try the porridge as it looked really interesting at the Porridge bar.
And its great to see the boys from El Alamo up and running
