Monash Uni to incorporate Mindfulness into their courses for students

As part of RNIS Healthy Living month

We explain mindfulness for International students and the fact that Monash Uni is offering this course.
Nature is good for the mind

Last month Meld wrote about the fact that Monash has decided to incorporate Mindfulness into their courses. This will help to lessen the stresses of an everyday Internation student. International students face lot of pressures when studying in a new country.

Their aim is to "create a more conscious and mindful society". Monash wants to be the first mindful university in 2015. We hope that other universities follow suit.

Last month Monash also won an Award for best student services and International provider.

Mindfulness is about connecting with ourselves and appreciating life. It is an effective way to reduce stress. Their courses will be for about six weeks. There will be lots and lots of activities for students to do as well as exams.

A lot of the Monash students were impressed according to Meld. Mindfulness is one of the key things for the workplace as RNIS had found out at many networking events in the city.

We hope that RMIT will do the same thing as many International students there would benefit from this. However RMIT are having drop in sessions on Friday for their students at lunchtime.
