Pho Nom had just opened in Emporium. They are on the lower ground level.
It is owned Jerry Mai and David who are a really friendly Australia couple. jerry served me both times that I visited the place.
They have seating inside and outside of the restaurant.
Not only do they specialise in pho, they also have super addictive rice paper rolls and banh mi which is great for vegetarians and pescetarians alike.
The rice paper rolls were huge for the price paid. Unlike Roll'd where you have to buy the sauce, the rolls came with sauce.
They have a wide variety of these which changes daily depending on what they have. I really did enjoy the salmon ($3.4) and the tofu one ($2.8). The tofu worked really well with the hoisin sauce and the rare salmon worked really well with the citrus sauce.
I really loved the pineapple sauce. It was super addictive. I can't which roll I got the first time, but I do remember buying a tofu one that time. I think I remember that I came after 2pm and the rolls were a little dry.
The second time around I came at 10:30am and they were freshly made and moist.
They do have $15 Hanoi nights which include beer (Crown lager) and pho.
The tea wasn't too sweet. For $2.50 it had a lot of ice in there.
The banh mi was very fresh. At $5 this was really super. I loved the little hints of chilli in there. It is a great thing that they can do vegetarian Banh mi
Guys if you want to get the rice paper rolls and fresh banh mi its better to come around 10:30am when you get your coffee. You can always put the rice paper rolls in the fridge for later
