Disclaimer: I was invited by Spark Communications to attend. As for the tea that was paid for by Trailer Made. But the other one of us won that ticket through Entertainment book.
The Good Food and Wine show was on again this year and RMIT Newintstudents bloggers went a cold wet rainy day.
Everyone else had to pay $34 to get in or $20 (if you are an Entertainment member).
"The good thing about watching cooking shows like MKR is that you get to see what working in Hospitality is really like" Adam D'Sylvia (celebrity chef)
Working in hospitality is not easy.
And you'll understand and you'll learn to appreciate what that is like. People these days are making a huge fuss on Urbanspoon as to how bad someone's food is, even just for a little thing. It's better just to taste the food and if its not right talk to the waiter.
Adam D Sylvia runs Coda and Tonka, both high end restaurants in the city and he was at the Good food and wine festival showcasing his favourite recipes in the Celebrity theatre.
Coda and Tonka are quite high end restaurants which employ great chefs. In fact they are trained to try everything. It is pricey and the prices have probably gone up due to the suppliers and delivery fees going up. They use local, fresh suppliers by the way. People are always complaining.
Grazing garden
This was something new in this years show. Five food trucks were there.Trailer made is a food truck and today they were in the Grazing garden. They are an artisan food company that features in many festivals and things
The Nespresso journey
That was free and part of ticket costs. But there was a huge queue. The class started at 2:30pm but I didn't really want to drink coffee at that time. So I was happy to just watch Justine Schoefield (ambassdor of Nespresso) showcase three different recipes using that coffee.

The recipes were museli in the morning, onion tart and affogato.
In the early morning I had one and it was a intensive 9.
Wines
People had to buy a glass for $10, but if you were a Citibank member it is free for you. Here there was heaps of wine sampling. Barossa was there and a lot of wine lovers all congregated around the section.

Sampling
We had heaps of fun trying all the different cheeses, sauces and Jazz apples. We even brought home some samples and a little jar of Azura coffee.

Love the cute sign enticing people to eat brussel sprouts. I am a fan of brussel sprouts |

We also sampled Dr Oectker's vegetarian frozen pizza (1 piece). There was a huge line for this. I really enjoyed Dr Oectkers restaurant quality pizza. It was simple but not too simple.
There were heaps of specials. Waterthins had 4 for $10 on all their goods.
The salumi was $5 to try. Awww, so expensive
But Jalna had their yoghurt to sample. Pity they weren't offering pots this time.
Many thanks to Spark Communications and Entertainment publications for inviting us as I had a great day
