Lentils as Anything in St Kilda was the first out of the Lentils family to have opened. It is at the end of the number 96 tramline (zone 1) and its a stone's throw away from the beach.
Like the Abbotsford store you pay whatever you want. And you can also donate books if need be as people would love to read your old books (especially on food).
Students if you have time you can sign up to volunteer at the Lentils cafe. Here the staff are friendly and it is a multicultural place. Two Indian girls were working there, making vegetarian curry. I saw all the vegetables being freshly prepared.
The cafe is small and only seats 30 people.
The place feels like RUSU Realfoods. Unlike Real foods they do coffees. They also do teas and hot chocolates.
The food here was alright.
I ahd the lentil burger and the okomiyaki (Japanese pancake). The okomiyaki was so addictive. I love the sauce and the pancake itself. The lentil burger was okay but a bit meh. They could have used a proper bun and not bread. But the pattie was spicy enough.
The pattie was not dry and the vegetables were fresh.
I had a pretty decent feed for what its worth. Students if you are poor then do eat here. If you have time why not volunteer here? You can sign up in store and you can volunteer for how ever many hours you want per week. They are flexible on the time. All you need to do is leave them your name and number and email and they will contact you. Oh and if you can't come to the St Kilda branch there is another one at Footscray and at Abbotsford.
