There is a new Cacao Green store in Chadstone. Actually this is the fifth store which has opened about a week ago so they are still fairly new.
Cacao Green is the sister brand of Red Mango. Red Mango is a Korean brand which is famous around the world.
They accept Meld Magazine's discount. It took the owner six months to fix the place and to find the site (her daughter suggested this to her). She secured this spot online.
And no, although they do coffee, they don't do tea. They use St Ali beans.
Rather they specialise in froyo and the waffles. I really loved the waffles and the green tea froyo today.
The New International students team was invited to try out the desserts on offer. As Sally wasn't free (she was working) I had kindly offered to go. It was a good chance to meet up with ten other bloggers and see what Nuffnang was all about. The other bloggers that went are: Jenny from Confessions of a Little Piggy, Jacqui from Jacqfruit, Hayley from Invisible Lemon, Maggie from Gastronomical Ramblings (They call me Maggie), Ann from Lady Rice, Erin from Recycled Fashion (there is a Weekend Notes review by her) and John from Gastronomical Gastrology
Nuffnang is all about fun and blogging. They organise many social events like this so that we can get to know one another. They do many community and paid events like these. They have an office in Melbourne, right next to Prahran station.
To begin with we were kindly offered three froyo's to try. For those of you that don't know, a froyo is basically frozen yoghurt done in a soft serve way. We were offered green tea, ginger (was just ok) and the mango one (which was the best). Mango froyo is my favourite.
The waffles are made freshly here at Chadstone. I had never had the chance to try them at the city stores so this was a first. And boy were they nice. I loved the ham and cheese one the best.
We all had a sweet tooth for the sweet one. I didn't get to try the strawberry one but people said that this was great. The banana one was the only one that I tried and loved.
We got to try out the smoothies (green tea and strawberry). I prefered the strawberry one as that one had lots of flavour. Not too sure on the green tea. This one didn't have as much flavour but I can taste the kiwi fruit in there
We also tried the parfaits. We were offered mixed berry and mango parfaits. I liked both of them, but I think I liked the very popular mixed berry one the best. The mixed berry one was full of vitamin c from the blueberries and raspberries
In the end some of us had the chance to try out their coffees and people said that they were great. But no artwork though, which is what they would have liked.
Many thanks to Nuffnang for organising this and I hope that Cacao Green stays at Chadstone for a long time. Students it is recommended that you get out and about and explore Melbourne and Chadstone as it is a great place. If ever you do come by Chadstone, do visit Cacao Green and say hi. If I were here I'd do the same.
