Their theme is "People, Passion and Performance".
The event is run by the Malaysian Students Council of Australia which is run by Malaysian students for students. Their aim is to build a strong Malaysian community in Australia.
This event started last year and it is a yearly sporting event for all the Malaysians that love sport.
It costs $18 to register to play but it was free for spectators. The $18 might seem much but to hire a court for the day at MSAC is very expensive as most things are around here. MASCA were thinking of running the event at Melbourne Uni, but they think that the community would think its for just Melbourne Uni students.
Last year they had a very similar event which is open to the community. Their aim is to connect locals and Internationals through a few sporting competitions such as basketball, table tennis, futsal, soccer, tennis and badminton.
And that was displayed throughout their weekend sports event. I had the lovely chance to attend this event at Melbourne Sports and Aquatics center to support my friends who are playing badminton.
Some of the competition on the Badminton court was very fierce. But fun to watch though.
The basketball was great too. It too was really fierce. There were crazy names like "West" and "Philippia". The score was pretty close.
You can check out Meld's full wrap up of the event as they were there for several days.
There will be similiar events next year. You can check out their site for more information.
