Saltbush Kitchen is in Ballarat at the Museum. Here they are about a 5-10 min ride from the city centre and I took the free bus there.
Here they are known for their Australian food and RNIS had a $15 voucher (as part of Archibald prize) to spend but they bought the biscuit for $1.50. Here Saltbush serves locally made Australian food and spices. And they let people try their spices.
Outside of MADE there is a park where people can play with dogs etc.
The service was alright and the place was quiet at 12:30pm but it picked up at 1pm
Here I had the veggie smash which came with Labne. This is a type of cheese which is a ball and is creamy but a little bit firmer than Greek yoghurt. I have seen these before at Prahran and South Melbourne Markets.
This veggie smash was really hearty. I liked how there was no sauces in the food as it brought out the freshness of the food itself. The toast was not burnt and the onion was subtle
The biscuit was homemade and was lovely. I loved the lemon myrtle as it was a really good twist to a normal biscuit.
Rating: 15/20- do try the veggie smash and they should invite some of the other bloggers to the country before the Archibald prize closes

Here you can read books whilst you are waiting for your meal to arrive. They will do a Masterclass on bush salts as part of Good Food Month in November.
