the Kokoda trail

The Kokoda 1000 steps trail is a place that you must visit during your time in Melbourne. Many Melburnians come back week after week just to experience it all.

The seating

Many international student groups visit each year for various orientation activities. I remember RUMA's visit in April and they had so much fun.

This trail went for an hour an hour and a half but it was really steep and I lost balance part way and fell on my bum

there is a cafe but its only open during the daytime. Its only open from 9am to 3pm. The nearest train station is upper ferntree gully on the Belgrave line. I think parking is free.

The scenery is beautiful and this area is very hilly. You may want to take a camera

You will come home tired like I have and you will need some snacks to keep the hunger pangs at bay. A banana is good. There are water taps along the way and you should bring a water bottle.
do go during your studies as it is free.

You will burn about 200 calories doing this climb. It is so worth it even if you live on the other side of town
