Treasure Star is a new karaoke place which specialises in spicy food. I can smell the spices as soon as I enter the place and it smells of warm, homely smells.
I bought the Scoopon for this which is $8 for one meal and one drink for both dinner and lunch. But what I didn't realise is that there is another lunch special menu for food which includes a drink for $8.80.
There is no dining upstairs. Instead there is a reception and the dining hall is upstairs. The dining hall looked a little too clean. It looked like some sort of Vietnamese place with all the statues of food and the cheap furniture.
The guy that served me was really sweet and to the other guy that came after me with the scoopon he was also sweet.
Being the health freak that I am I had a plum juice and braised eggplant on rice. The eggplant was cooked really nicely and was piping hot. There was no msg to it which I like. I cannot stand msg. The rice though was a little bit bland.
The plum juice was so sickly sweet though and it came in a plastic cup.
The karaoke prices seem a little bit expensive but oh well.
Rating: 13/20- alright but not that great. They have been open for nearly three months and they still have a lot to learn. I hope that they will invite more bloggers and put more dishes on their menu.
