This week there have been reports from Meld and Fairfax about the MyMaster site and what has been going on and we will report it here.
Ok guys you might remember what happened in November with the MyMaster site which was exposed in the media and was taken down.
According to Fairfax, the universities are fighting back with more than 70 students penalized and 2 of them expelled for multiple plagiarism breaches. Many of them have now been called to a hearing. Macquarie Uni seems to be the highest hit university with 128 assignments submitted to that site. At that uni 43 students have been asked to attend disciplinary hearings.
At Uni of Sydney19 students have been issued with notices. There were 18 assignments which were bought on the MyMaster site.
The University of Newcastle has finalised all their cases and 31 of them have been caught. 24 students have failed their courses
What else is happening now?
More and more assignment help ads are placed online such as Facebook. The universities have banned these ads from the toilet doors. We have also been telling the assignment help posters online that this is not acceptable.
We hope that the Victorian and Federal Governments will stamp out this sort of thing in the new ESOS Act for students. We also hope that the universities, other than RMIT become more stringent in this cheating scandals.
We also hope that Facebook deletes all the cheating ads.
Students if you are having trouble with your assignment you should see your campuses student services as it is free and confidential. They do have a study and learning centre which is available for students and their assignments.
