As a part of the Melbourne Food and Wine festival
RNIS was invited by Study Melbourne and did not have to pay.
The Flavours festival was at the Prahran Gardens, just around the corner from the station. It was a nice day for the festival.
The Flavours festival is all about sharing and enjoying food from different cultures. Here we sampled many different things such as sushi from the Korean stall and Korean pancakes as well as Yumm Scrum's food and sauces.
Yumm Scrumm is a sauce and spices business and so they make their own spices. They sell for $10 per jar at various places. I loved their pomegranate salad.
First up was Dish'd. They own a shop just down the road from the park and the thought of $5 for the skewers and the ice cream was perfect. And the Skewers were brilliant. The only thing is that it was hard to eat coucous without a fork or a spoon. I was messy with that part. But at least I got to choose the sauce and I chose homemade tzakiki.
For the drink I had the pineapple tea from Those Girls Do Iced Tea and it was nice. For $5 I got a big cup with lots of flavour and not much ice. I hate ice in my drink.

One stall that I wanted to try was Kushi. Kushi is a new Japanese skewer food stall and here they had two vegetarian skewers with cabbage for $5. If you like them on Facebook then you get the zucchini one for free. Oh and the barley tea was also free. I really enjoyed their freshly made skewers which were not too oily and cooked the right way.

Last but not least was Padang's veggie fritter ($2 for a huge one). I enjoyed the crunchiness of this. It was oily this one but it wasn't too bad.

The ice cream at Dish'd was always good.

Do go to the next years one. The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival team should organise something like this for next year as this years one was a success.
