The Queen Victoria Night Market returns for 2014.
And this year's one is a lot bigger than the last. This one has more seating, a champagne and prawn bar and a few other bars. Not just sangria.
Here they have over 60 food stalls serving lots of things such as Hammer and Tong's soft shell crab, Ants dumplings etc. I came early, just after 6pm hence there were no queues. It was easy to get there from Flagstaff station as it was on the William st side of the market.
First up I had the rice paper rolls from the Peking Duck store. It was vegetarian and for $7 it was small and very dry and bland.
Next up was my favorite Korean Potato twister ($6). You can choose your spices and if you want sweet potato it is an extra $8. I heard some rumour that the workers there are International students who are underpaid.
The potato there is fried and is full of goodness.
In between entrees and mains we went around and explore the stalls. We bought some take home chocolates and fudges and we also sampled some sauces from Hells breath. It wasn't too hot and I expected it to be really spicy.
The beef and chive dumplings from Ants dumplings were really good. It was $7 for 4 small dumplings.
But what really fed me was the huge curry and roti from Drums café. I had meant to blog about them but never got around to it. The curry is really spicy and the roti is oily but fluffy. And they cut them which is easy to eat with a fork.
I was easily full afterwards.
Do visit this night market during the summer and bring enough cash for it as the line for the atm was very long.
