Are you looking for part time work?

Many International students look for part time work whilst they are here. But they just apply for any job without thinking about what their goals and capabilities are. We give some tips and hints to finding the right job.

Here's some things you might need to know about the job and find out about yourself before applying

1) Your likes
What are your interests? Don't a job just for the money and desperation. Do it because you love it. Your boss can see right through you and they can tell if you are putting in the effort. If they see no effort, it means that you don't like/actually want the job.

Remember though it is a competitive market out there and you might find yourself jobless again.

Careerone has a personality quiz which you can take for free. There are 21 questions and at the end you'll get your result which will recommend careers for you

2) Your capabilities
Ask yourself
What can I do?
What can't I do?
What am I afraid of?

The employer will choose the best person with the right skill sets and you will have to work in it. And you will have to like the job you're in.

3) Benefits of working there
It should be near where you shop, eat, hang as you may just get discounts for working there. Other benefits could free membership, cheaper public transport (if you work at uni), cheaper or subsardised courses (if you work at the uni that you are studying in for a long time, free food ( if you work in a hotel or a restaurant) among other things.

Good luck. Many jobs are not advertised online in seek and things so if you do have any vacancies please list them here.
