RNIS was invited by the City of Melbourne and AMES to this free class. All thoughts are their own.
It was on a Friday morning at 10:30am in the Multicultural Hub.
During the class we learnt how to make enchiladas, salsa, guacamole and nachos.Afterwards we ate and listened to the Women's Health talk about diabetes and healthy eating and exercise.
The cooking class was lots of fun. We all went to the market together to learn how to shop for the best ingredients. We were given vouchers by AMES and the Queen Victoria. The best team won $80 worth in Queen Victoria Market vouchers.
There was about 20 of us and the most of us had booked the free workshop online at Eventbrite.com. We were split into teams of 4-6 people and then we had to work out how much food per person. We only had half an hour to shop at the market.
Mexican food is simple to prepare as it is chopping and more chopping. Here the chef showed us to make the perfect salsa, nachos and prepare the perfect chicken at home.

Many thanks to AMES and City of Melbourne for the invite
