This is an Invite but all opinions are my own.
Charlie and Co Burgers is a new burger place in Melbourne in the Emporium, which has opened just last week, along with Bar Napoli. They are a favourite with the Sydneysiders. So what makes them so popular? We explain.
I tried to look on Urbanspoon for the Melbourne menu, but there was no good looking pictures. The picture of the menu that we took looked very blurry.
Charlie and Co at the moment only does burgers and sides at their Melbourne but they might do hot dogs soon. They are becoming more and more popular at this store.
You order and pay and then they give you a buzzer. When your food is ready the buzzer will go off and then you have to pick up your food. You can watch them make it.
The lady at the counter with the glasses was the most down to earth. There was a queue at 12pm all full of office workers
I had the sea salt chips that day and they were fantastic. Rightly salted and crunchy too.
The burger was a classic Charlie's but a vegetarian one with two layers of Brie and caramelized onion with egg. They ran out of the lentil burger and the fish burger and they don't get deliveries until the next day. My burger was rather messy to eat, but they were generous with the fillings.
Leandro had the true blue Aussie burger. Because of its big size he found it hard to eat.
We got Parmesan fries with truffle oil, chilli slaw (coleslaw) and onion rings. The onion rings were to die for. The chilli slaw was healthy, but amazing. The Parmesan fries were good but a bit on the big side though. They were addictive to eat.
Its great to see that Melbourne has much better burger places in the city, other than Grilld. Many thanks to Charlie and Co for the invite and I hope that there will be more posts soon about you. I hope that you will be just as popular as your Sydney store.

Charlies menu borrowed from He Loves Food on Urbanspoon. Note this is the Sydney one. |
