Bob's Steak house is in a quiet part of Docklands behind Etihad Stadium. It is near the Nixon, the place that I wanted to go to but it was closed :(. Urbanspoon had listed this as open.
There are a few other pubs in that area
It was empty at 7:30 when I came. It was where the Friday night football was happening across the road. There was only one other couple in there and they were finishing up.
The service here was nonchalant and they looked like they wanted to go home. The service was slow and the food took a while to come out.
When I presented my Entertainment Card they forgot to cross the number out. They said that I can use it as many times that I want in the place. But when I got home I checked the book and it said you can only use it once for that place. I crossed the number out myself.
At that place I got a 25% discount meaning that I only paid $21.70.
But at least my lemonade (about $4.50) came out fast. It was okay. Nothing exciting.
There was only one vegetarian main on the menu and that was the risotto. Of course being a vegetarian I just had to have that. It was $24. For that price I expected a bigger dish and bread to come without me having to ask them for it. Luckily though for them I didn't mind the size so much given that it came late and I had my Entertainment card with me.
There was a bit too much cheese in there. A good risotto would have a little less cheese in there and more vegetables. I couldn't taste much of the vegetables at all.
The bread though on the other hand was good though. The butter was very creamy and the bread was soft and fresh. And a little chewy which I liked.
Verdict: I would love to check out the bar next door to the restaurant. Pity that they are owned by the same people but are not linked to the restaurant or participating in the Entertainment program.
Pity that not many other bloggers are visiting the place or Docklands.
Editors note: Bob's Steak and Chop house is participating in the Entertainment program and they are offering a 25% off the total bill. Do buy the membership from us. A little birdy told me that the books will be gone soon so if you want a book do get in fast.
