Food and Restaurant stalls at the Japanese festival

Here is the list of the food stalls that will be at this year's Japanese Summer festival. Some of the restaurants we have been to and others we have not.

Izakaya Hachibeh
I've never really like this one. This place is on Bourke st and its known for its cheap eats
Chirashi

Teppankai
Teppankai opened in 2013 and their bento last time was a popular choice for all. You might want to see our write up of it.
Teppankai's speciality sushi

Maru meru
We have a write up of this place. In short this place is about takoyaki and crepes and its situated on Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn.
Marumeru's menu

Ramenya
We have an earlier post on Ramenya and it was ranked highly. Expect to see bowls of ramen at the festival.
One of their bento sets which comes with tea

Burwood Teppanyaki house
This house has appeared in numerous festivals and has been successful. I have not been there before so I cannot judge the food. But telling from all the queues at the previous festivals this must be one popular place.

Horse Bazaar
Its a Japanese Gastropub, based in the city. Here they do cheap meals for $5.

Ebi Fine food
Highly ranked by the Westies this is one stall not to miss. They are a Japanese fish and chip shop. Expect to see yakitori and bentos at the festival.

Zero Lam
These are the guys that do the takoyaki and taiyaki. Taiyaki is the sweet stuff.

Little Red Pocket Cocktail bar
The only place in the festival where you can get mocktails.

Heirloom
When I was there I really loved their chirashi bentos and their sushi was just fantastic.

J's Donut
They are the guys that do the Korean potato twister. I have seen them a couple of times but haven't tried them.

Link Coffee
They featured in the Japanese festival last year and were popular with festival goers. The Matcha latte was popular.

Little Ramen bar
They are a Ramen place, but on that day they will be just selling drinks. It has been highly talked about on Urbanspoon

Harajuku Crepes
I wasn't a real fan of this one as you see in my post

Wabi Sabi Salon
This one is one of the most talked about places in Melbourne. Based in Collingwood, this place has survived for many years and is a cheap eat. It is an izakaya.

Zen Japanese restaurant
Located in Hawthorn. This one seemed like a mixed bag according to reviews on Urbanspoon. You decide

Places which I have not been to or heard about
Tokyo Deli
The Ichi Group
 The Karate Kitchen
Tryber
Burger place
 En Izakaya
I Sushi Bar

So do give Japanese food a try on Sunday at the festival which is free for all
